Can any curtains go on tracks?
Light curtains can go on either curtain track or curtain rod, but when your curtains become very heavy or long, it is worthwhile to consider putting them on a with curtain pulls, or on motorized tracks.
Can you put track curtains on a pole?
For curtain tracks you will need to insert the hooks into the low or middle row of pockets so that the heading hides the track. For poles insert the hooks into the top row of pockets so that the curtain hangs below the pole. Just make sure you insert the hooks into the pockets rather than onto the cords!
What type of curtains hang on a track?
Pencil pleat curtains can be hung from a track or a pole. Tab top and Eyelet curtains must be hung from a pole. Pinch and Goblet pleat curtains can be hung from a track or pole but as they hang underneath either, to enable the curtains to concertina back properly, the track or pole will be in full view.
Do people take curtain poles?
Unless it states so in the contract, you’re not obliged to leave your curtains when moving house. But you will most likely be required to leave the curtain pole where it sits.
Where should a curtain pole be placed?
Poles are usually fitted about 15cm above the aperture of a window, but sometimes compromises are needed if there is insufficient space or if the coving obstructs. You need to place the pole the correct height above the floor to allow the curtains to hang correctly.
Can you put pinch pleat curtains on a track?
They come as either double or triple pleated curtains, can be used on either a track system or on a rod/pole with rings both use the same type of hooks. The Metropole is a track designed for wave curtains that has the appearance of a pole. Tracks are often used for bay windows as you can purchase tracks which can be bent to accommodate the curve of the window. There are poles available for bay windows, although they are usually more difficult to install.
Do you use Curtain Poles or curtain tracks?
Curtain Tracks provide a discrete method of hanging curtains, they are not usually seen above the curtains when install. If you prefer the curtains to be the focal point without adding the additional decorative element of the pole, then this option would be the right for you. This allows the curtains to be ‘the star of the show’.

Can you hang tab top curtains on a track?
Tracks are not suitable for tab top and eyelet curtains; a pole would need to be used for these curtain headings. Further to this although Pinch Pleat curtains can be hung on a track we would recommend using a pole as these then stack back neatly and look better when the curtains are open.
