What do you do when your car says engine Hot AC off?
You’ll need to add coolant to the reservoir (not the radiator) to ensure that it will be enough to cool off your engine when the situation warrants it. Before adding coolant, you’ll need to consult the vehicle’s owner’s manual. You’ll need to know the appropriate coolant that is suitable for your engine.
How do I know if my coolant temp sensor is bad?
What Signs May Signal Your Coolant Temperature Sensor May Be Failing?
- Poor Fuel Economy.
- Irregular Temperature Readings.
- Black Smoke from Your Exhaust.
- Your Engine is Overheating.
- Your Check Engine Light is On.
Why does my a / C go off when engine temp is too high?
The a/c compressor is driven my the engine and creates a load on it. That load increases engine temperature. If the ecu already thinks the engine temperature is incorrect or too high, it deactivates the a/c to reduce that load and temperature. The engine temperature can be above normal due to a circulation problem.
Why is the AC off on my Chevy Malibu?
Thinking it might be the thermostat I changed it and flushed the engine just in case some coolant had gelled in the engine.. then replaced the coolant temperature sensor and the message is still there. The temp gauge is still on cold. I’m stuck and don’t know what wrong!!
What happens when the a / C is not turned on?
Another issue can be air flow. When the a/c is turned on, the radiator fan will typically turn on as well. first or all to provide air flow through the a/c condenser to provide you with cool air, and second to keep the engine temperature within range. If the fan is not coming on for any reason, the engine temperature will climb as well.
Why is the a / C off on my Chevy Cruze?
If the thermostat is not opening fully or not at all, coolant will not circulate through the engine to the radiator for proper cooling. If the coolant temperature sensor is faulty and not providing readings to the ecu, the programming will deactivate the a/c also to protect the engine. Another issue can be air flow.
