Do you get a checked bag with United Economy?
Basic Economy fares have the same checked baggage policies as standard Economy tickets. You can still check your bags and pay the applicable service charge in the airport lobby when you’re picking up your boarding pass.

Do you get a free checked bag with United Basic Economy?
Checked bags are free for Business Class and First Class passengers across all destinations. Economy passengers to Europe and other long-haul destinations receive 1 checked bag for free. If you’ve booked an Economy Basic fare then you will not have any free checked baggage allowance included.
Is there a difference between United Economy and basic economy?
The main difference is a basic economy ticket has a smaller United Airlines baggage allowance. You won’t be able to put a larger carry on in the overhead bin and will be limited to a small personal item. You can’t check-in using the United App or website unless you have paid extra to bring a checked bag.

How strict is united with carry on?
When it comes to carry on size, United are fairly strict. Plus, they will be checking more thoroughly than other airlines given that Basic Economy ticket holders are only permitted to take one personal item.
