How did Ardyn become a daemon?
He was chosen by the Crystal to save Eos from the Starscourge, a malady that transforms people into daemons. He did so by absorbing the Starscourge into his own body to protect his subjects.
What was Ardyn’s goal?
Ardyn’s primary goal was to get revenge on the entire line of Lucian kings, with defeating the True King wielding the full power of the crystal as it’s ultimate culmination. Destroying Insomnia (their capital) and bringing on the Starscourge (the thing the Lucian kings are destined to stop) is part of said revenge.
Why did ifrit betray the Astrals?
The war was started by the Astral of fire, Ifrit, who ruled over Solheim but was betrayed by his once-loyal subjects who began to spurn their benefactor and sought new heights of power.
Who is Gentiana?
Gentiana. Shiva lives in the world as Gentiana, the High Messenger who stays by the Oracle Lunafreya Nox Fleuret’s side. Whereas the Oracle can commune with the gods to deliver mankind’s message to them, Gentiana does the same for the gods.
Why did Ardyn kill Luna?
Ardyn actually wanted Noctis to get stronger. Killing Luna was one way to anger Noctis more and thus motivating him to come after him. 1: Noctis defeats Ardyn and thus he has to sacrifice his life(Noctis’ family line is cut this way) in order to truly kill him forever. Ardyn finds the peace of the death he wanted.
Is Ardyn Noctis brother?
From that whole speech what I took away is that Ardyn is Noctis uncle, Regis’ brother and it was Regis who painted him as a demon thus he wanted revenge on Regis (that and the fact the he was denied the crystal’s light and instead Regis was chosen, as told by Bahamut).
Is Noctis dead?
The only way to remove the daemon threat for good requires Noctis to give up his own life and purge all the daemons from Ardyn’s soul in the afterlife. Thus even Noctis dies at the end in order to restore the kingdom of Lucis and remove all the daemons from the land.

Little if anything is known about the origins of the Starscourge. It appeared at some point in the distant past of Eos; in the German localization, Ardyn Izunia says the Starscourge originated from the Meteor of the Six, but it is not stated outright in other versions.
Who is the oracle of the Starscourge?
Only the Oracle, the current one being Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, can keep the plague at bay and stop the world from plunging into perpetual darkness where daemons will take over. The Starscourge is a cloud of photosynthetic organisms that drink light before it reaches the ground.
