How do I calculate how many pebbles I need?
General rule of thumb to work out the amount of pebble you will need is to allow 70-80Kg per square meter. The depth of coverage would be at the minimum end of the scale at this meterage. If you have pavers to consider add up the total area and subtract the amount of paving you have bought/laid.

yes. You can take rocks and minerals from public lands. But there are a number of things that you need to keep in mind. For example, you can only collect rocks on BLM lands if it’s for personal use and not used to sell.
How big is a bag of small pebbles?
Generally pebbles come in what is called a 20kg bag, but the weight can vary quite a bit as different stone has different weights. Extra-small and small pebbles 20mm to 40mm. You will need 3 bags (approximately 50 to 60kg) of pebbles per square meter. Medium pebbles 50mm to 65mm. You will require 4 bags (approximately 70 to 80kg) per square meter.
