How quickly does chamomile grow?
Both boast fragrant, daisy-like flowers with white petals surrounding a yellow center. Both varietals of chamomile grow quickly (reaching full bloom within about 10 weeks), and are best planted in the spring, either via seed or young plants.
Is chamomile hard to grow?
It’s easier to establish chamomile herb in your garden from plants or divisions than from seeds, but growing chamomile from seed is also relatively easy. Chamomile grows best in cool conditions and should be planted in part shade, but will also grow full sun. The soil should be dry.

German chamomile seeds can germinate after about one to two weeks. When the seedlings are 1 to 2 inches tall, thin them so they’re at least 8 inches apart or transplant the indoor seedlings in the garden about 8 inches apart.
When do you plant chamomile seeds in Australia?
The seeds were sown in a sunny spot early in Spring and came up fairly quickly. In the first year I did harvest some flowers, but importantly I let many of the flowers go to seed, and since that first abundant harvest I have self- sown plants cropping up every year. So my only job is to transplant the seedlings.
