Medical model deals with a specific disease with specific therapy while social model of health is based on the understanding that in order for health gains to be present we need to meet the people’s basic needs.
The social model of health examines all the factors which contribute to health such as social, cultural, political and the environment. This concept of health may be easier to understand as it makes health an attribute you can measure simply by determining if a disease is present or not.
What is the difference between the social and medical model of care?
