What does Doc Q lace do?
Doc-Q-Lace (docusate) is a stool softener. It makes bowel movements softer and easier to pass. Doc-Q-Lace is used to treat or prevent occasional constipation. Doc-Q-Lace is also used to reduce pain or rectal damage caused by hard stools or by straining during bowel movements.

Is Docusate and Dulcolax the same thing?
Dulcolax (Bisacodyl) works fast and the suppositories work even faster to relieve your constipation, as long as you’re okay with it “cramping” your style a bit. Softens your stools. Colace (docusate) softens the stool, but may not stimulate a bowel movement as quickly as a laxative.
How do you use Docusate Sodium?
Take this medication by mouth, usually at bedtime with a full glass (8 ounces or 240 milliliters) of water or juice, or as directed by your doctor. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. Decrease your dose or stop taking this medication if you develop diarrhea.
How quickly does Doc Q lace work?
Relief is usually seen in 1 to 3 days. Inform your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.
What is a strong laxative?

How long after taking Doc Q lace can you have a bowel movement?
After taking this medicine you should have a bowel movement within 12 to 72 hours. Do not use Doc-Q-Lace for longer than 7 days unless your doctor has told you to. Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve, or if you have not had a bowel movement within 1 to 3 days.
