When should radiator fans turn on?
Your radiator fan should kick in at about 200 degrees Fahrenheit. If you notice your vehicle is overheating or at the very least running hotter than it normally does, listen for the fan to see if you can hear it.
Is a radiator fan the same as a cooling fan?
There’s no difference, really; both remove waste heat generated by the engine’s combustion process. A radiator is used in water-cooled engines and the fan removes heat from the cooling fluid in the radiator before it returns to the engine.
How does the radiator fan in a car work?
The radiator fan is positioned between the radiator and the engine, and is in charge of cooling the car. These cooling radiator fans are especially helpful when your car is moving too slow to obtain external airflow, or when you are stationary, and air can’t move through the grille.
How does the engine radiator fan control relay work?
Using a sensor the computer detects that the engine temperature is rising above normal limits, a signal is sent to close the fan control relay which is protected by a circuit fuse. When replacing these cooling fans match the failed unit with the new cooling fan. To check a fan clutch condition the engine must be “OFF”.
What kind of fans do you need for a radiator?
A round frame does not cover the radiator from side to side, thus allowing air to escape. Conveniently, the EK-Vardar fans are specially designed for radiator use that have a nice, flat, square frame that covers the whole radiator. EK-Vardar fan and EK-CoolStream radiator, designed to work in harmony.
What happens if a radiator fan burns out?
If the cooling fan motor burns out, the cooling fans will then, in turn be disabled. Since the cooling fan motors work in tandem with the fan blades to pull air through the radiator, the blades will then not be able to spin or cause any airflow to cool off the car.
